You are ready to capture, organize, collaborate, and synthesize your research. Here is a quick overview of what you can do in Numici. If you prefer to watch a video instead, go to Getting Started with Numici (Video).
When you are reading the contents of a web page, activate the Numici extension by clicking on the Numici extension icon to the right of the address bar.
A Taskspace in Numici is the workspace where you organize key information you extract and associated notes as you read from different web sites. Create new Taskspaces for projects or topics.
Click on the arrow icon to expand the Numici extension sidepane
Click on the arrow next to the Taskspace name in the side pane header to select an existing Taskspace
Or click on the New button to create a new Taskspace
When the extension is active, you will see a narrow bar on the right side which you can expand to find more information. If you do not have time to read the article, you can add it to a Taskspace by clicking on the + icon in the side pane. As you are reading, if you find any text or image in the article that is relevant to your research, all you need to do is select it with your mouse and click on one of the buttons in the pop-up menu.
First, make sure that the Taskspace you want to capture this content into is displayed in the menu title bar. If not, change it by clicking on the name of the Taskspace displayed in the menu title bar.
Click on Highlight to capture the selected content into your Taskspace. Numici automatically saves a deep link to the highlighted content in the document or web page.
Click on Comment to highlight the item and attach your ideas, thoughts or follow up actions.
Attach one or more tags to the highlight to help you connect related information as well as to find it easily later.
All users invited to collaborate in a Taskspace see all the documents, web pages and the associated annotations. Users with edit permissions can add documents and web pages to the Taskspace. Users with ?Read & Comment? or higher permissions can add new highlights and comments. They can also reply to annotations made by any user in the Taskspace.
Numici helps you with synthesizing the information you collected by showing you the annotations (highlights, comments, and replies) from the documents and web pages in the Taskspace in one place -? ??i?n the Numici Digest , available with one click.
Share a single annotation, a document with all its annotations or the entire Taskspace digest to your team members, customers and ?partners . Numici is integrated with many productivity and collaboration applications as well as social media making sharing extremely easy.
You can use the powerful search function in Numici to find information you have collected using filters (date, tags, etc.) and keywords. Numici presents the search results in an easy to navigate 3-pane format ? list of matching documents, snippets of text with keywords searched and the actual document itself.
Numici can send you notifications in the application or via email for a variety of events like invitation to collaborate in a Taskspace, comment added by another user etc. You can configure your notification preferences under User Preferences available under the hamburger menu to the left of your profile badge.
